I thought so too, and posted that same thought to the BBS. I was
informed that no, that area is *not* for a PCMCIA slot. It's for
NVRAM. That would make sense. You could plug in your memory card
from your digital camera and send the pictures to someone, or print
them. Also, you could download MP3s to the card and play them on your
Rio.
