Well, like i said... id like to do it... i didnt say i could.
The first thing i need is the pinouts... then from there ill figure out the
rest or
at least build off it to see what else is needed. If i cant get the specs
then im SOL without even getting to the hard part...

I suspect you are severly out of your depth, you are way out of mine!

The box you see is *most likely* a demodulator that turns VHF/UHF
radio signals into usable signals - this is a far cry (I suspect) from a
complete TV tuner that just needs some power and a contol signal
or two. This box would be the reverse of the modulator we all used
to hook our Atari 2600s and early computers (pre 1985) to TV sets.
Those took an RF signal and raised it to ch3/ch4 for display on an
unmodified TV set.

Once you r"magic box" creates a composite video signal, how will
you "insert" that in to you system? You would need a card that takes
a video signal in, and many of those cards already *have* tuners
built-in (All-in-wonder, etc.).

Sorry, which I had better information for you - I could be wrong, but
I don't think this is anywhere near a trivial effort - maybe not even a
do-able project.

Hope this helps,

Ok... this is related - but only slightly

I went to a computer expo several weeks back at the Rosemont Convention
center and one booth was selling TV Tuner boxes... the small METAL boxed
that you see attached to Internal TV cards. It has a Coaxial connection on
the back and then several (not sure how many) pins out the bottom. Now i
know this is REALLY nvolded but id like to "think" about installing in in
the websurfer... but as a first step i need the pinout of this thing. Its
brand is sharp... and from what ive read its a pretty standard it not the
only tuner of its type they make.

Any ideas where i can get the pinouts of this thing? The normal pinout
placed dont have anything like this -
