I plan to remove the on board mic and replace it with something more
suitable for voice recognition (Basic stuff, "Lights on", "Lights off"). I
want to hard wire the Labtec AM-240
(http://www.labtec.com/product/profile/index.cfm?ProductID=120) to the board
and mount the mic on the base of the stand. Can I just remove the on-board
mic and wire the new mic there, or should I wire it directly to the chip?
The thing is that I don't want any extra filtering or adjustment of the
input outside of the labtec hardware, but I do want anything that is
necessary to interface with the chip.

Thanx,
