yep, but not serial o1 , still trying to get the modem data sheet...
I CAN tell you NONE of the 16 pins are
connected to phone jacks. I tested that... 2 are +5 and 2 are gound,
 and 3 still elude me. the other 9 are regular serial.

but yea I get diagnostic messages from serial port 2 on
a serial LCD. and when the dip switches next to it are flipped,
I am 99% sure it is then used to serialy program the bios
with some type of hardware programing device.

Im a hardware guy.. but I would think the more the better :)

winchip 2 is a good bet from everything ive seen.
or you could pop some SMD parts (no big deal) and stick a 233mmx in it.
